On Saturday, July 12, Gameday Nuts proudly made its event debut at Rusty Bull Brewing Co. during their inaugural Battle of the Butts in North Charleston — a backyard BBQ showdown benefiting the South Carolina Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Despite a monsoon-level deluge, the event drew a great crowd—and luckily for us, the downpour funneled folks right through the front door, where we were stationed perfectly with our shell-less boiled peanut samples. Gameday Nuts sells boiled peanuts with no shells, taking a well-loved snack in a new direction.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better storm,” joked co-founder Geoff Richardson, who worked the booth alongside his wife Noel.
“The crowd got soaked, but they came in laughing — and left with peanuts in hand.” “We love discovering creative food vendors doing something unique,” said Rusty Bull owner Brian Bogstad.
“Gameday Nuts brought a really fun twist to the table — and their flavors paired surprisingly well with our beers.”
“Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world without blood cancers,” said a representative from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of South Carolina.
“We’re grateful to all the vendors and attendees who showed up to make this first Battle of the Butts such a success — even in the rain.”
